The little Karoo town of Hanover is often described as the town in the middle of South Africa. It lies halfway between Johannesburg and Cape Town; between Cape Town and Durban, and between Upington and Port Elizabeth. Before the advent of cars, all roads led to Hanover and virtually all travellers passed through the town.

Babadaud BnB
Babadaud offers a quiet, friendly and informal overnight stop for the undemanding and unassuming traveller. Although located in the quietest part of town there are the chiming’s of the church bell every hour and half hour, the barking of nearby dogs and the odd vehicle passing by, making it a quaint respite from the outside world.

Accommodation is shabby but not at all chic. Furnishings and fittings, whilst not minimalist, are simple, adequate, modest and dated. Each room has en-suite lavatory with a basin and shower or bath. The rooms are at the front of the house, each with its own street access via the veranda.
Parking is to the front of the house by the room window. The rest of the property and the grounds are private and are not available for the use of guests. Lots of cats live here. They are banned from the guest’s rooms but they are always out and about.

Basic equipment and supplies for making tea and coffee are provided in the rooms. A light breakfast in the brekkie room is available between 7am and 8 am upon request. Cutlery, crockery, a microwave and a toaster are available for guests' use. There are no other catering facilities
available, no kitchen, no freezer and no braai.

In town are three reasonable venues for dining; two are licensed. There is also a service station snack shack. Travellers seeking themed or upmarket premises and services are respectfully referred to other accommodation providers who have made good and costly effort to oblige their requirements and desires.
